SWIFTS boss Jody Brown admits they will have to cope with one of the most talented sides in the Bostik North when Maldon visit Scraley Road tomorrow for a cracking looking Bank Holiday derby.
Heybridge held their own against the Jammers in league and cup last season and have won three league games and a cup tie so far this campaign, but Brown is wary of Kevin Horlock’s talented Jammers.
Brown said: “We’ve managed to watch Maldon twice already this season and also had some footage from Saturday’s game.
“They have an abundance of talent for a a club at this level and we will have to work very hard to counter their strengths.
“Hopefully the sun is shining and the stadium is full, as it’s a great game for local football fans so early in the season.”
Swifts are short in central defence with Phil Anderson (head injury) joining Jack Cawley and Ryan Henshaw on the sidelines.
But new signing Joe Gardner is in contention, having come through a fitness test on his groin injury.
George Smith is ruled out with tonsillitis and Luke Callander and Harrison Chatting are both minor doubts.
