JODY BROWN has backed a trio of Swifts stars to shine on loan at Stansted.
Midfielders Nick Brown (pictured above) and Elias Siligato and promising young striker George Smith agreed a temporay spell with the Essex Senior League side last week.
Swifts boss Brown said: “They are three players very much still in my plans but minutes on the pitch are critical if they are not to lose the benefits of pre-season.
“And with our reserves fixtures a little to sporadic of late, and the level maybe not being enough of a test, I felt this was a good opportunity for our players.”
Swifts have made an unbeaten start to their campaign and are joint leaders with Hornchurch in the early Bostik North table.
Brown said: “To score 27 goals and concede only four shows what a good start we have made – but football can change very quickly.
“Now we must continue to focus on our methods and process, trying to keep hunger and desire throughout the squad.
“So far everyone has played their part, from the secretary and kitman, right through to the goalscorers.
“The challenge for the group and for the club is to keep pushing the bar and keep contributing however you can.”
Swifts’ reward for a thumping 7-0 win over Arlesey is a trip to Met Police in the next round of the FA Cup on September 16.
Brown added: “It is a tricky draw when you consider the number of Step 5 and 6 teams left in it.
“To get a club like Met Police away is not what we wanted, they’re a better club, in a better league, with better players. So it’s a huge challenge
“But it’s the FA Cup and everybody knows that giant killing is not a rare occurrence in this competition.”
