SWIFTS hosted a productive networking event at the Aspen Waite Arena which was attended by more 40 local companies on Friday (April 27).

New club CEO Paul Webster outlined ambitious new plans to upgrade the clubhouse and attract more fans and sponsors to the club, which has just secured a Bostik North play-off spot on the back of historic runs in the FA Cup and FA Trophy this season.

Webster told guests the club aims continue to grow its community initiatives significantly and work closely with local schools and colleges.

Matchday attendances at the club this season are 80 percent up on the previous year, with an influx of many new younger supporters.

Chairman Gary White also gave an update on the progress made over the past two years since he was appointed and praised the excellent work of all its volunteers, as well as the thriving youth section which now boasts 17 sides for all ages under vice chairman Steve Spreadbury’s leadership.

He added: “This club is now really going places and becoming very much a centre for the local community, giving young people the opportunity to really enjoy their football and be the best they possibly can.”

These networking events will be hosted on the last Friday of each month with the next one scheduled for May 25 from 7.30 am.
