IN A NUTSHELL: New signing Dan Walker scores a brace as Swifts give new boss Julian Dicks a debut win after a seven-goal thriller in Suffolk. The sides went into the match with Swifts 16th in the table and Mildenhall eighth. The Swifts back line was bolstered with the return of Ryan Henshaw, who captained the team. This win was a massive morale and points boost after a testing period for the club.

KEY ACTION: The opener came after a great cross from Joe Claridge was converted by Dan Walker and Swifts doubled their lead soon after the restart with an emphatic Matt Price strike. Town pulled one back through a Thomas Boxer penalty, despite new Heybridge keeper Chris Haigh guessing the right way. Walker restored the two-goal advantage 20 minutes from time but the hosts pulled another one back with another Boxer spot kick. Again the visitors pulled further ahead with a terrific free-kick from sub Nick Brown but an excellent late goal from Lee Butcher made it a nervy finish with five minutes of stoppage time. That said, Walker had the chance for a debut hat-trick at the death but his kick was saved comfortably by Blake Horton.

SWIFTS STAR MAN: Dan Walker. The new Swifts striker showed his pedigree.

SWIFTS DEBUTS: Chris Haigh and Odei Martin.

INJURY CONCERNS: Swifts midfielder George Craddock came off with what looked like a foot problem.

NEXT MATCH: Bury Town (home), Bostik North, Saturday, October 13, 3pm KO.
