THERE is a mouth-watering clash in prospect at the Aspen Waite Arena tomorrow as Bostik North leaders Bowers visit second-placed Swifts.
The Pitsea-based side will start the game six points clear at the top of the Step 4 division after five league wins on the bounce.
The visitors are packed with higher-level experience and also boost the division’s 16-goal top scorer David Knight.
A win for in-form Swifts could leave only five points separating the top five.
Bowers boss Rob Small also told his local newspaper this week he is looking forward to his West Ham boyhood hero Julian Dicks, the manager of Heybridge.
Small told the Echo: “Julian has done magnificently well since going in as manager at Heybridge.
“They were in a bad place at the beginning of the season and that was a surprise to many after their success last term.
“When a club is in a difficult period, you wonder how the new manager will cope.
“But this is Julian Dicks and he is a legend. He was my hero growing up as a West Ham fan and any players at step four must be inspired by him when he walks into the dressing room.”
Kick-off is at 3pm.
