Swifts on weather watch ahead of scheduled trip to Suffolk

SWIFTS – along with the rest of their Bostik North rivals – will be on weather watch ahead of Saturday’s scheduled trip to Suffolk.

The Essex side are due to travel to Dellwood Avenue to face Felixstowe in a 3pm kick-off.

But as the image above of the The Goldstar Ground (posted the Seasiders’ Twitter account on Wednesday) shows, the cold snap has hit pitches hard so it will be a case of keeping a close eye on the weather forecast in the coming days.

Felixstowe, who were promoted from the Eastern Counties Premier last season, are 13th in the Bostik North table after a 1-0 home win over Great Wakering Rovers last weekend.

Swifts won the reverse fixture 4-2 at Scraley Road in October, and a win could move Julian Dicks’ side to within three points of leaders Bowers.

Swifts midfielder Elliott Ronto told this week’s #SwiftsCast: “I think we are expected to win every game at the moment and I think we can beat any team.

“When we work hard for each other it all just comes together so we will be going for the win because that’s what we need to do if we are going to challenge for the title.”
