IN A NUTSHELL: Swifts moved up to second after dogged derby win in incredibly foggy conditions. The visitors gave a good account but were up against it when they were reduced to ten men just before the break. It was a return to Scraley Road for former Swifts assistant and now Witham manager Mark Ashford.

KEY ACTION: Swifts were the first to threaten when Luke Wilson’s header was saved by Luca Collins. And there was a key moment just before the interval when Witham’s Odukoya Ayo was sent off for what looked like a clash with Wison (see Dan Wilson’s take below). The visitors’ night got worse six minutes after the restart when Wilson headed home from a corner for what would prove to be the winner. That said, Heybridge keeper Chris Haigh was still called upon in the dying minutes to make an incredible save to secure all three points.

SWIFTS STAR MAN: Odei Martin (pictured by Alan Edmonds). A strong display from the Spanish midfielder.

INJURY CONCERNS: None.
