Swifts re-sign quick winger ahead of visit of Romford

SWIFTS have been boosted by the return of versatile and pacy winger Evans Kouassi ahead of Saturday’s visit of Romford.

Club secretary Steve Crisp said Kouassi has rejoined ahead of a six-game run-in which could secure home advantage in the play-offs.

The ex-Chelmsford and Billericay player joined Swifts last summer and made eight appearances before signing for Mildenhall Town.

Romford are bottom after a 4-2 home defeat to Maldon on Saturday, but it was 2-2 in that game with 14 minutes to go so Heybridge will be prepared for another tough afternoon.

Swifts returned to winning ways on Saturday as they came from behind to see off a decent Grays side at the Aspen Waite Arena.

The winning goal in that 2-1 victory was a wonderful direct free-kick from Jack Adlington-Pile, and that came after an equaliser from Toib Adeyemi (pictured by Alan Edmonds).

Heybridge’s licenced bar and hot food kiosk will be open from midday on Saturday.

Ticket prices are £10 for adults, £5 concessions and under-16s admitted for free.

Kick off at the Aspen Waite Arena is at 3pm.
