IN A NUTSHELL: Swifts ended their league campaign with a dominant win in Suffolk in which they could easily have scored more goals. Heybridge will now travel to Parkside on Wednesday evening to face second-placed Aveley in a play-off semi-final. A win would earn a trip to either Maldon or Coggeshall in the final. The game was also a Scaley Road swan song for Swifts’ popular defender Guillem Ramon before he returns to Spain and I would like to wish him all the very best. Guillem has been a fantastic player for Swifts over the past three years and a thoroughly great guy. He will be sorely missed!

KEY ACTION: Swifts started brilliantly when Jayden Randell headed home Nick Brown’s excellent corner. Heybridge striker Dan Walker then hit the post after a deflected shot, but despite continued Swifts pressure, the hosts levelled with a good shot from long range from Emmanuel Machaya. Swifts in-form attacker Evans Kouassi then hit the bar after some great build up play before his side deservedly restored their lead when Manny Osei-Owusu scrambled home from a corner. Swifts had many chances to add more goals after the break but saw the game out for what might yet prove a crucial result in their bid to secure a good enough points-per-game score to go up.

SWIFTS STAR MAN: Jayden Randell: The young centre-half takes this for the second week in a row after another excellent performance.

SWIFTS DEBUTS: None.

INJURY CONCERNS: None.
