SCORERS (MINUTE): Manny Osei-Owusu (40) / Jason Raad (45, 75)

IN A NUTSHELL: A first Swifts goal for Manny Osei-Owusu provided a highlight on an otherwise disappointing day for the club. Swifts midfielder Harrison Chatting also received a special commemorative shirt from vice chairman Steve Spreadbury to mark his recent 100th appearance for the club. Swifts are now fifth in the table heading into their final three games, which will decide whether they play home or away in the play-offs.

KEY ACTION: The first chance fell to ex-Swift Sam Bantick but he shot just wide in the 25th minute. Manny Osei-Owusu (pictured by Alan Edmonds) put the hosts ahead shortly before the break when he capitalised on a poor goal kick from Lamar Johnson. But Aveley were soon level when Jason Raad curled in a good free-kick from the edge of the box. The Millers pilled on some early pressure early in the second half but some good blocks from defender Toib Adeyemi and saves from Chris Haigh kept the scores level. But the visitors did hit what would prove the winner in the 75th minute when Raad scored his second. Swifts had two late chances to level – which fell to Joe Claridge and Matt Price – but had to settle for a defeat to their play-off rivals.

SWIFTS STAR MAN: Manny Osei Owusu. The striker took his goal well and looked a threat on what was otherwise a poor performance by Swifts.

SWIFTS DEBUTS: None.

INJURY CONCERNS: None.

ENTERTAINMENT VALUE: 6/10
