SWIFTS have made two new signings and retained eight players on a day when manager Julian Dicks set about shaping another competitive squad for next season’s crack at the Bostik North.
The play-off winners have swooped to bring in goalkeeper Luca Collins and defender Jack Kemsley from derby rivals Witham Town.
Experienced midfielders Nick Brown, Elliott Ronto and Harrison Chatting, versatile Spanish prospect Odei Martin, exciting attackers Evans Kouassi and Manny Osei-Owusu, striker Dan Walker, and towering defender Toib Adeyemi have also committed to the club for the next campaign.
Swifts vice chairman Steve Spreadbury said: “What a day for the club with some quality additions. And all those who have resigned were superb for us last season, so that is also very positive news.
“Jack is a quality addition to our defence and we needed a new keeper of course. We are sure Luca will be a big hit and our keeper coach James Good is looking forward to working with him.
“And I’m sure news that we are keeping the likes of Evans and Manny – who are so entertaining to watch – will be be welcome news for our fans.
“It was also important for us to keep players who’ve been with us a bit longer – players like Harrison Chatting, who has been a big part of the club’s success in recent years, and also Nick Brown, who showed all of his quality in the play-offs.
“Of course there is still work to do on the squad and we hope to have news of further additions in the coming days and weeks.”
There have also been three departures from Swifts this summer. Goalkeeper Chris Haigh has joined National League South side Concord, while defender Luke Wilson and midfielder Charlie Kendall have also left. The club would like thank all three for their services and wish them every success in the future.
